Duo FreeRando

Fun! The Duo FreeRando defines the light, all purpose touring category. Trab's Piuma Quadraxial construction utilizes carbon-reinforced quadraxial weave glass to produce exceptional torsional rigidity while remaining longitudinally soft, delivering a precise ride with great float. The Duo design increases the tip's surface area by 22%, reducing tip dive while trail breaking and skiing powder. It also shifts the sidecut 9 cm forward, resulting in a more responsive handling ski. The split differentiated tail releases easily from turns and plays an integral role along with the duo tip in the skin attachment system. A micro-finish grind improves glide while the high molecular density sintered base resists gouging. Strategically placed elastomers eliminate chatter & the radial tuned 52 HRC steel edges provide great edge hold while easily releasing from turns. The best all around touring ski available, this ski does it all!

"The solid performance of the Duo FreeRando surprised many testers. It reacts well to changing conditions, who knew I'd ever say a rando ski was ripping it up. For ski-mountaineers, long distance, and weight conscious skiers, the Duo FreeRando's featherlight performance may be just the ticket." Backcountry 2009

"The Duo FreeRando has a solid platform and enough torsional rigidity to handle steep firm conditions. It is a great choice for technical spring touring" Offpiste 2009

"Feather light and floats better than you think." - Backcountry 2008

"In soft snow the Duo FreeRando's soft tip seems perfectly balanced with the solid mid-section that holds a great edge on firm and icy snow, even with speed." - Couloir 2007

"Trab definitely found a sweet spot in the mix of width, construction and sidecut. The skis feel smooth and carvy on most hardpack. Overall I like the Trab Duo FreeRando. They feel nimble on my feet, look good, and ski smooth. Nice for backcountry skiing!" - Lou Dawson, Wildsnow.com

"The Duo FreeRando offers a good balance between light and capable. It has a short radius bias and is a good tool for technical skiing. It is the ski to grab when grams count or for your local rando race series. When the snow conditions get tough and your legs are tired, the FreeRando will get you down the hill." - Offpiste 2008
